Cultivating Agricultural Business Growth
Agriculture is the third largest industry in Michigan, however it is often overlooked in conversations about economic growth. The food and agriculture industry in Michigan contributes over $90 billion annually to the state's economy, which has doubled in six short years. It also provides employment to 22 percent of Michigan’s workforce.
The food and agriculture industry in Michigan is flourishing. Michigan is second only to California when it comes to agricultural diversity, and produces over 300 different commodities, many of which are from West Michigan.
Ottawa County is one of the leaders in agricultural production and supporting industries, and Allendale is at the heart of it all. Opportunities for advances in equipment, machinery and technology exist right here in our backyard.
Join Mark Knudsen, Planning Performance and Improvement Director for Ottawa County, as he shares information on a unique Ag-Tech Incubator that is assisting the agricultural industry in bringing new farm production, processing, food safety, food storage and distribution technologies from concept to market.Tell a Friend
