Connecting the ... Trails?
Allendale’s Opportunity to tie into the Greenway Trail System
•Multi-use trails always top the list in local and national surveys as the most type of recreation facility most desired by the public.
•A recent MDOT study showed the economic impact of bicycling in Michigan is $668 million – and that is just biking – multi-use trails have other users as well.
•The Grand River Greenway Explorers Trail will be over 30 miles in length connecting Grand Rapids to the Lakeshore and linking thousands of acres of park land.
Speaker John Scholtz, Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Director, will discuss Allendale’s opportunity to tie into the Greenway in the next 5 years to continue the development of 26 miles of trails linking parks and communities.
