Description
Businesses are struggling to find employees with the right skill sets. It’s hindering business growth and our ability to compete in the global marketplace.
On Wednesday, October 25, the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District Careerline Tech Center (CTC) will open their classroom doors to show us how students are being prepared for the workforce of the future and more importantly, how businesses can be engaged to address the workforce crisis today.
We will hear from David Searles, the Director of the CTC and Shayna Carlson, CTE Work-Based Learning Supervisor share how the Careerline Tech Center is providing the training needed to produce employees with the most in demand skill sets. With over 28 skilled trade programs offered to students and adults, we will hear how non-paid work experiences, co-op and capstone experiences, internships and job shadows have catapulted those individuals from the classroom to a career.
Representatives from Kenowa Plumbing and JR Automation will share their stories and how they are managing the workforce crisis to come out ahead of the competition.
A gourmet lunch of flank steak salad will be prepared and served by students from the culinary program.
Space is limited to 50 attendees.Tell a Friend
